The Woman Behind it
At 50, Lisa hit the wall many high-achieving professionals recognize but rarely say out loud. Successful by every measure — yet quietly feeling undervalued and invisible. Wondering whether she could be fully herself and still succeed on someone else's terms.
She did the quiet math so many of us do: I just need to make it 5-10 more years. But at a crossroads, the real question wasn't how much longer she could hold on. It was who she was already evolving into — someone the old definitions of success no longer fit.
At 55 — after quietly absorbing what it's like to be underestimated because of her age — Lisa stepped off the path she'd spent decades building and founded Crystal Platypus. She's guided clients as they take that same crossroads in different directions ever since: some rebuilding entirely, others redefining their impact right where they are. What matters isn't which direction you go. It's that you stop performing a role you've already outgrown.
She's spent over 30 years with 1,000+ leaders learning what actually works — inside organizations navigating everything from ownership changes to explosive growth. Her clients don't talk about her credentials, though. They talk about how she listens first, never gives canned solutions, and sees the barrier they couldn't quite recognize themselves.
Her signature CRYSTAL framework helps leaders refocus their time, energy, and relationships around what actually matters — connection, renewed identify, impact, well-being, achievement, and joy. Clients don't just reorganize their calendars. They rebuild their relationship with their own lives.
She built all of this while raising twin boys as a single mother — which meant there was rarely time to fall apart, even on the days she wanted to. She learned to do the inner work in the margins: in the car, at 5am, before anyone else was awake to need her. There wasn't room to fall apart. So she learned to grow while still standing.
